During my last post about monster hunter tri online play, I had mention about what items to bring so that you would not be call a noob, and also how to use the traps to further prove that you are no noobie.
Now in this part two, I will talk about armors. I know that armors are relatively easy to understand. You put on armor and charge at the monster! But there is more to armor in Monster Hunter Tri then meets the eyes.
One way to tell the noobs from pro is to see their armor skills. Most noobs have either no skill active or only 1 skill. In this case I will suggest that you change room to avoid the noob as the moron will most likely die a lot in your matches.

What is armor skill?
Each armor have certain skill points, if you look under equipment, you will notice that each pieces have some skills and a positive or a negative value attach to those skills.
When you wear armors that have the same skill, their value will add up. And when you have enough points(normally 10) you will be able to active certain skills. This seems simple enough, but noobs choose to ignore this!
Why is armor skill important?
These skills are very important as they will either heal your team mate when you drinks healing potions, or decrease the hunting time by increase your damages. Different hunters have different way of playing this game and the skill reflect on how they play this game. For example, I like the trap master skill as this allow me to setup bombs and traps faster and also give me a 100% success rate when I combine traps. Traps are extremely useful to decrease the hunting time.
Decoration slots
If you understand what is armor skill then decoration would not be a problem for you. Decoration can be forged at the same place as where you forge your weapon and armor. These decorations will give you extra skills if you place enough of them together, or enchant your current set of armor skill. Normally the armor will have just enough slots for you to increase one of the origin armor skills. I highly recommend that hunters look into this.
